Two years ago Aley Shalechet initiated activities related to providing cremation services by conducting a wide-ranging survey of the implications and trend of cremation throughout the word, the legal aspects in the State of Israel, the effects upon the environment, and so on.
After a serious analysis of the results of our survey, we decided to move forward with the project of setting up the first Hebrew crematorium in the State of Israel, as part of our world view as leaders in the burial industry in the State of Israel, and all that this position entails.
From a survey conducted recently, we have learned that there is a real demand for cremation services in Israel that should not be disregarded. Approximately 30% of those interviewed expressed their desire to choose cremation over burial. It should be pointed out that the survey does not represent the entire population of the country, but it does dramatically demonstrate that there is a need for this service.
