The Farewell Ceremony is a civil funeral ceremony which has a great deal of psychological significance for the family members of the deceased.
Unlike a regular ceremony, the Farewell Ceremony is personally adapted to the deceased and his/her family. A person lives his life in his own unique way, surrounded by his/her loved ones, and so should they part – in a ceremony which is appropriate for them. Furthermore, the Farewell Ceremony supports the psychological process taking place in the bereaved families, unlike a regular funeral ceremony which lacks any personal aspect.
The Farewell Ceremony can be ordered in advance or in real time:
In a pre-booked Farewell Ceremony, the ceremony officiator will meet with the person ordering the service while still living, at a time and place convenient for him/her. The officiator will interview him/her about his/her life, take an interest in their preferences for the ceremony and gather his/her most favorite photographs. In addition, the officiator will get to know the client personally and know how to deliver his essence at the Farewell Ceremony. In a Farewell Ceremony booked close to the time of death, the ceremony officiator will meet with the family members prior to the ceremony and prepare all its components in collaboration with the family.
Each Farewell Ceremony is accompanied by personal ‘Yahrzeit’ candles, a mourning book, graphic materials, chairs, amplification equipment, a podium, water, an officiator and a personal memorial site. Apart from that, should there be any special requests, we will take care of all the logistic arrangements required.
We know to build a personalized Farewell Ceremony for every family. A ceremony in which family members feel they had the opportunity to properly bid their loved one farewell.
